Jamaal Charles says Broncos ‘might as well’ release him
Jamaal Charles said Tuesday if the Broncos aren’t going to play him, he wants to be released so he can find another team.
There was a shadow across about half the ice lengthwise at the start of the game. By the middle of the opening period, the shadow was at least partially covering about two-thirds of the ice, with the team benches in sun along the outfield edge and facing where home plate usually sits. The playing surface was completely in the shade at the start of the second period, except for the side boards to Lehner’s right on the first base side of the field.
The Sabres trailed 2-0 after one period before Reinhart cut the deficit in half 56 seconds into the second period on a rebound of Ristolainen’s shot.
Shortly before that, Lehner made a stellar stop on a short-handed breakaway by Grabner that would’ve given the Rangers a three-goal lead.
There were conflicting reports earlier Tuesday that Arians had decided to retire. The 65-year-old coach said he will not make that decision until after the season, and is sick of addressing the issue.
I’m getting a little tired of it, yeah, Arians said. There will come a time and place when we decide what we are going to do. I guess Larry (Fitzgerald) has put up with this for like, eight years, so I guess I can put up with it for one.
Before leaving the floor, Thomas got a hug from LeBron James and one from Cavs coach Tyronn Lue, who pulled him close and offered two perfect words.
Welcome back, Lue said.
James scored 24 points, Kevin Love had 19 and Jae Crowder added 15 for the Cavs, who were coming off losses at Golden State, Sacramento and Utah.
Damian Lillard scored 25 for the Blazers after missing five games with a hamstring injury. Jusuf Nurkic added 23 and CJ McCollum had 19 for Portland.
